Here's what's trending for August 14.

Another round of severe weather led to more flooding and damage in the Lehigh Valley on Wednesday. The storms knocked down multiple poles on Route 309 in Lehigh County, cutting off power to about a thousand residents. Crews are working on restoration, with nearly all residents having their service restored. Officials said multiple vehicles were stranded in the floodwaters, but no injuries were reported.

A teen wanted in connection to a July shooting in Easton that injured six people is now in custody. 16-year-old Yandiel Gonzalez surrendered to police Wednesday and is being charged as an adult in connection with the July 12 shooting that injured six people. Gonzalez is the second person charged in the case. 20-year-old Dante Holmes-Eutsey, 20, is also facing charges and is currently being held in Lehigh County Jail on unrelated charges. Police say the two showed up at an 18th birthday party and were not let inside. That's when one of the suspects, allegedly Gonzalez, lifted a rifle and started shooting.

A 39-year-old South Whitehall Township man has been sentenced to 20-to-40 years behind bars after pleading guilty to raping a child. Jeffrey Morris admits to raping the child from 2012 to 2014 when the child was six and seven years of age. Morris took photos and videos of the assaults and his wife eventually found them and reported it to police, who arrested Morris in December 2023.

The issue of what to do with those living in a homeless encampment along the Jordan Creek was front and center at Wednesday night's Allentown City Council meeting. Council heard from homeless advocates. "The three solutions on the table today, extending the eviction, opening the shelter early or creating safe camping zones, miss the heart of the problem," one woman told council. Approximately 100 people live in tents along the creek in Jordan Meadows, but they've been told that they must get out of there by August 25th. Mayor Matt Tuerk says it's a safety issue as that area is in a flood plain and he says three people floating down the creek in tents have already had to have been rescued. At the meeting, Council voted unanimously to free up $50,000 to open early the River Crossing YMCA warming station that is usually open during cold winter months. Tuerk says a year-round shelter for the homeless will be included in his next budget.

For the fifth consecutive year, the Hotel Bethlehem has been voted America's Best Historic Hotel/Resort. In the summary of the hotel, USA Today writes, "a hotel has occupied the site since 1741, though the structure was used as a convalescence home for World War I soldiers for a period. Today, guests enjoy modern amenities at this historic setting in the heart of Moravian Bethlehem."

New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy has signed legislation that creates a stronger incentive for manufacturing in the Garden State. The $500 million tax credit will be available to give companies long-term benefits. It's called the Next New Jersey Manufacturing Program. Eligible businesses will be able to receive a tax credit that's worth a percentage of their new job creation and total capital investments. Murphy says manufacturing plays a vital role in New Jersey's economy and future, and that this program will further build that progress.

It's an end of an era at the Philadelphia Sports Complex. As of today, the home to the 76ers and Flyers will no longer be known as the Wells Fargo Center. Its new name is Xfinity Mobile Arena. That becomes the building's fifth name since it opened in 1996, following the CoreStates Center, First Union Center, Wachovia Center and Wells Fargo Center.
